Well this just stopped working and now because of the disk cleanup strategy, it also erased the last of my full disk images before it decided it couldn't do the backup!
It can't create the volume snapshot for some reason. Help!

The error indicates a problem communicating with VSS writers on your system. Please have a look in your Windows Event log for VSS error messages that might give more information and check that the VSS service is started.
Go to device manager and from the View menu enable "Show Hidden Devices" then you will see "Storage Volume Shadow Copies" devices , then delete (uninstall) all the "generic volume..." devices under the " Storage Volume Shadow Copies" then restart pc and after restart goto system protection and wait for Vista to create the devices you have deleted before the boot. After this step create a recovery point because all of the shadow copies have been deleted and reconstructed
Don't try to do the backup until Vista settles down after the reboot or you might get other random failures.
