Greetings,

We tried to install "reflect_setup_x86_x64_full.exe" into our Windows XP computer and got the following error from a pop-up screen:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Ref653.msi' in the box below:

Use Source: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\

We did a search for the file Ref653.msi on the same computer and never found it.

For more information, we tried the same thing on other computer and everything was OK. The computer has not had any file Ref653.msi either but Macrium was installed on it.

Please advice, thanks.

Hi

The installer is probably trying to remove a previous version of Macrium Reflect from your system. The msi file for the installation, 'Ref653.msi', has been deleted from 'c:\Windows\Installer'.

Do you/did you have Macrium Reflect already installed?
If so what is the version number, v4.2.xxxx and edition free/full?

Kind Regards

Greetings,

The computer that we had the problem has never had Macrium Reflect installed. This was the first time we installed it.

Thanks for your response.

The installer copies refnnn.msi (nnn is random numbers) to 'c:\Windows\Installer' then the Windows Installer service runs the .msi file from there. Can you make sure that folder 'c:\windows\installer' exists and user SYSTEM and Administrators have full access to the folder. If you still have problems then you may need to run the Windows Installer redistributable to fix the problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288

Hope this helps
