Install 30 day trial, worked great until time ran out. Puchased license, installed license. Now all I get is this error when my scheduled task trys to run. How to I get past this error? what does it mean? I have nothing in event viewer and can't find any log files with detailed error messages or descriptions.

Running on Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us.

Can you send the log files of the backup to support at macrium.com so that we can investigate more closely.

Kind regards.

Chris.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

In order to send a log, please follow these steps.
1. Click the 'Log' tab the Reflect main window.
2. Open the log by selecting the appropriate date and time.
3. Right click in the log window and select 'View Source'.
4. Select 'File' then 'Save' in the Notepad window that opens.
5. Send the file to support (@) macrium.com

Additionaly, if the error code is 0x8004131f then this could be a Windows Task Scheduler error code which indicates Reflect is already running as a background task. Please allow time for this task to complete or manually terminate any instances of Macrium Reflect.

Kind regards.

Chris.

Thanks for the fast response and support! Excellent!

I read about the shadow space and looked into that, turns out there was no shadow space allocated at all. I tried allocating and expanding to "unbound" and it made no difference. I'm now going to reboot the server to get a fresh start, make sure no other tasks are running. I did see that error earlier, that something was already running, but I tried restating the service, but that didn't make any difference. We will see if a reboot clears it up. I will post back with the results or send a log file when the system comes back up.

EDIT: After the reboot, I went to my XML file and started a backup. It ran and completed successfully. I have a second backup for another drive, so for that one I went to the scheduled backup tab and right clicked and selected run. Nothing happened. I went back to the XML, right clicked and select run and it reported it was busy running another task. I will wait for a while and see if I get a back up report/log for the second drive.... then report back.
Thanks

Yup, the scheduled task ran fine and the log shows it. So tomorrow will be the final test to see if the scheduled task fire off and runs without the error. I will post back tomorrow for others benefit and to close out this thread. I still have no clue what went wrong or why???? and there were no error logs in the log tab to refer to, only the successful logs before everything stopped running.

I'm now thinking the loss of license was hanging the last attemped run of the scheduled task, and rebooting cleared that out????

Regularly scheduled tasks ran fine last night, so all is well again.
