Hello all,

I have been storing my backups onto the network. I have been trying to get my rescue CD to contain my network drivers so I can get load the image and restore it. I have tried everything I can think of and everything I have read about to get it to work and I am still not able to see any network interface card when I load Windows PE.

I have a Studio 17 - 1749 Laptop Genuine Windows 7 Professional laptop running Macrium Reflect 64 bit version 4.2 build 3775.

The driver is definitely located under the c:\boot\macrium\drivers directory and the CD and USB boots are definitely trying to load it. The NIC seems to be active until right at the end of the boot when it is trying to find other plug and play devices. That is when the lights go out on the NIC. If I hit ESC to bypass the plug and play discovery, then the lights stay active on the NIC, but no network is loaded.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us.

Driver packages can be made up of more than just .SYS and .INF files, there can also be .DLL and .CAT files. Have these been included in the same folder as the .INF ?

Also, hae you used Vista based drivers for PE 2.1 ? Windows 7 drivers may not be compatible, although they do share a common driver model.

Kind regards.

Chris.

Chris,

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I ran "reflectDC" to generate the contents of the drivers directory on the machine. Can I assume that the necessary DLL and CAT files have been included? If not, is there a way for me to tell what is necessary to make the driver package complete?

I have not used Vista based drivers. They are all Windows 7 drivers.

How can I get the Vista drivers without installing them?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You will need to visit the vendor website, primarily, as the best source for Vista based drivers. Failing that, Google will be your next best bet.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Chris.
