Hi Nick,

Error reading MFT - Error code = 2. Please run 'chkdsk C: /f'

Reported, can't do a new backup.

VSS is running.

Ran your 64 bit vss fix, but no difference.

Ran checkdisk /f on alll disk to backup and where backup is stored.

Any advice?

Paul

Hi

Thanks for your post.

1. Run 'chkdsk c: /r /f'. Please use the '/r' switch. This will analyze the entire file system for problems and may take some time to complete.

2. If you still receive the same error can you temporarily completely disable your anti-virus software in case it's preventing Reflect from reading the disk.

Kind regards

Nick - Macrium Support

Hi Nick,

Did what you suggested, rand chkdsk c: /r /f around 5 times, then success of a backup, then restore, success again.

Thanks a million.

One question, when booting up it still goes to 'Windows Boot Manager' and offers two options, Windows or Macrium start.

Any way of removing this.

Paul

Hi

I think Nick was suggesting running chkdsk once from the command prompt initially but repeat if needed.

To remove the Macrium Reflect from boot menu, first boot into Windows and open Macrium Reflect. In the 'Other Tasks' menu select 'Add Recovery Boot menu option'. In the dialog which appears select 'No menu' > 'OK' When you next reboot your computer Macrium Reflect should no longer be a boot option.

Hope this helps

Regards

et
