I am a new user of Macrium. I've set up a number of backups, some of which run OK to completion, and others (two) that exhibit this error. I've read the knowledgebase article on the topic, but it doesn't help me any. The failing backups run fine in manual mode. Any help?

Hi

Thanks for your post.

Error 0x40010004 from the scheduled task indicates that the scheduler service was stopped before the task completed. If you enabled the 'Shutdown' or 'Reboot' option at the end of the backup then this is normal and expected. The image will have been created without a problem.

If this is not the case then it's likely the PC was rebooted during a backup.

Kind regards

HI Nick,
Thanks for your response.
CAn this error also result from a long-running backup, and another one scheduled on top of it? ANd is there a way to execute a two backups as a group so that the second one runs when the first one completes?

Hi Bob

The error is caused by the task scheduler service terminating.

If you schedule multiple tasks they will always queue and be executed in sequence.
