macrium rescue cd V2.0.181
HP Pavilion A1440N

shows a mouse arrow on the screen but it is frozen.
Have tried all 3 setups and all get to the same place.

Did you try to create the linux disk with compatibility mode?
It's in the Advanced button in the boot disk wizard.

If that doesn't work, try a BartPE disk if you have access to a WinXP disk.http://www.macrium.com/blog/2008/09/22/HowToCreateABartPERescueCDForMacriumReflect.aspx

By "all 3 setups" do you mean you purchased a license and the WinPE 2.0 is not working as well?

Is there an AHCI setting in your BIOS?
If so, disable it and try again.

If not, Nick should hopefully be around soon.

I found the setting SATA MODE was set to RAID. changed it to IDE still no good..

When set to RAID, the SATA controller enables both its RAID and AHCI functions. You will be allowed to access the RAID setup utility at boot time.

When set to IDE, the SATA controller disables its RAID and AHCI functions and runs in the IDE emulation mode. You won't have access to the RAID setup utility.

Hi

The Linux CD doesn't support RAID. Please try the BartPE CD and add your RAID drivers.

http://www.macrium.com/blog/2008/09/22/HowToCreateABartPERescueCDForMacriumReflect.aspx
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/help/english/drivers.htm

Or use the Windows PE 2.0 CD which comes with the purchased version of Reflect.

Hope this helps

Well I found out how to fix the mouse freezing.

This version of Linux does not support my USB mouse. Used a older mouse and it loaded fine. OR maybe USB is not supported see the next problem.

NEXT PROBLEM

it does not see my USB drives. This is a HP Pavilion.

HELP (I don't allays follow fast.. but this is a very nice software package that I would like to get working)

You mentioned is a prior post, you tried the BartPE disk and had a problem as well.
That's unusual. Are you creating the disk on that computer?

If that doesn't work, I'd recommend getting the licensed version.
How much is your time worth?
The WinPE 2.0 disk is guaranteed to work.
