I'm a new user of Macrium Reflect. Installation successful. I'm trying to create a bootable Windows PE USB stick.... followed the tutorial "Create a bootable Windows PE USB stick"... downloaded and installed Windows PE component successfully... in step 5 of the tutorial it says "5. After the WindowsPE component installs...copy the contents of c:\boot\macrium to the root of the USB stick". I search for but could not find the directory c:/boot/macrium. Is this tutorial current ? Or, Did I miss something ? |

It's probably a hidden folder. Open windows explorer and go into the folder options and tell it to show hidden folders. |

Hi,
Merlin is correct, I'm going to change the tutorial.
If you click start > run > type 'c:\boot\macrium' and press return that should open up the folder.
Sorry about that.

OK. I'll look again tonight. The rest of the tutorial was very good... that's why I thought I had done something wrong. |

I enabled the display of hidden files/directories. There is NO directory named "c:\boot\macrium". My computer is a HP Mini 210 with Windows 7 Home Premium. |

Hi
Windows PE is installed in the Windows boot drive, this may not be 'C'.
Please download and run 'PEInstallDetails.exe' from here:
http://updates.macrium.com/reflect/utilities/pedetails.exe
This will show a dialog with the installed directory for Windows PE.

Hope this helps

| I executed the indicated program. It identified that c:\boot does exit. I once again tried to find the directory c:\boot\macrium, and this time, I FOUND IT ! I thought I had enabled the display of hidden files but I must have made mistake (I am new to Windows 7). Anyways, I'm on to the next step of copying the boot/macrium files to the root directory of the "prepared" USB memory stick, and then, testing the bootup of the USB memory stick. Thanks again. |
