Interesting...
About 3 hours after copying the logs into the previous post, I got an email that it was now successful.
I didn't rerun it myself.

Looks like either a network problem/congestion or a failing device maybe? I'm interested to see what Macrium says... Did you check to see if the hard drives at the NAS device report they're healthy by chance? Weird about your update though...

Hi Merlin

Thanks for posting. Sorry you are having problems.

The 'Index verification failed' message indicates that the meta data at the back of the image file could not be written. We have had some reports of this happening due to AV software attempting to scan the file and grabbing an exclusive lock just prior to Reflect flushing the index. Annoyingly, if the file is on a network share it could be caused by any PC on the network that has access to the shared folder.

Please can you check that .mrimg files are white-listed on all networked PC's.

Kind regards

Nick - Macrium Support

Thanks for the replies.
We have 3 servers in-house.
Every night, all 3 are imaged both to a NAS, and then to an RDX, which has a removable SATA drive to take off-site.
The server that has this occasional issue, is a fax server which has incoming faxes that are reviewed and saved. We never have issues with the other 2 servers.
No one in the office has direct access to the folders on the RDX, and to my knowledge, there is no AV running specifically on that server.

Nick, congrats on post 6000!!!

It happened again twice tonight.
I updated to the latest version of 5.3, rebooted, and the same error message came up.
I have 3 servers, each imaging to a NAS, which isn't having any current issues, and also to an RDX unit with removable SATA drives to take off-site.
It's only the one server to the RDX that's having issues.
There is no AV on this server.
There is no one in the office currently (3am) that could be accessing it.

Hi Merlin

Very sorry you are continuing to have this problem. Unfortunately, this is going to be difficult to diagnose as the index verification is a straight forward read back of the file meta data directly after it's written. Any failure at this stage can only be caused by the target file system.

Can you turn off Auto-Verification, allow the images to complete and then independently verify the image files? You could use the command line verifier for this:

http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50176.aspx

This may indicate whether there is a timing issue causing the verification to fail directly after creation.

Kind regards

Nick,
with auto-Verify off, the image completed.
When verified separately, it was successful.
Any recommendations?
